Update — Spotify presaves are no longer permanent

As of July 2026, Spotify caps third-party authorization at 6 months. Every presave tool, Laylo included, loses permission to save music to a fan's library 6 months after that fan last connected Spotify — unless they reconnect. The "lifetime" or "forever" presave no longer exists on Spotify's side. (background)

Why this hurts less on Laylo: a fan's Spotify connection is stored on their Laylo fan profile, not on your artist account. So when that fan presaves for any artist on Laylo, their 6-month clock resets — for you too, without you lifting a finger. The bigger the network gets, the more often your fans get re-authorized somewhere else and stay presave-eligible for your next drop.

What this means for you

• Run a presave at least every 6 months. Each one re-authorizes your own audience directly on your pages.
• Always send Drop Day Messages to All Fans. That's still what activates presaves for fans from past drops — see Recurring Presaves below.
• Lapsed fans just need one tap. A fan whose authorization expired gets prompted to reconnect the next time they hit a presave, and they're covered for another 6 months. </aside>
